After having celebrated its 50th anniversary, The Karellis are opening a new chapter. The Maurienne resort will launch its season on December 19, 2026, with several changes, including the arrival of the Big Air Bag in winter version and a new network of cultivated snow. This will renew the experience without changing the elements that have made it unique since 1975.
At Karellis, No need to completely change everything the day after a symbolic anniversary. After a season dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the resort, the winter of 2026-2027 will be one of adjustments and new experiences.
The main novelty will be visible at the end of the day: skis or a ski buoy at your feet. Tested during the summer, the Big Air Bag is now available in winter mode for the first time. The goal is simple: to allow holidaymakers to discover the jumps in a safe environment, without reserving the activity for only the most experienced riders.
An investment of 40,000 euros
The station has spent 40,000 euros on this installation, equipped with a ramp custom-made by Smooky Bike, a company based in Maurienne. The ESF and the tourist office will ensure its operation throughout the season.

The sessions are scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 17:30 to 19:30, in front of the Tétras ski lift. Children will be able to try the buoying experience from the age of 6. For ski or snowboard jumps, a minimum level will be required: bronze star for skiers and third level snowboarder.
In terms of prices, you will have to pay 5 euros for a jump, 8 euros for both, and 13 euros for the five. An activity designed as an extension of the day of skiing, once the classic slopes are about to close.
A new network of culture snow
The other change announced for this winter directly concerns the ski area. The Karellis indicate that they have developed a new network of cultivated snow for the 2026-2027 season.
The resort also maintains its human-sized format: 31 alpine slopes, 17 ski lifts and 530 hectares of skiable terrain, with a peak at 2,500 meters. The adult day pass remains announced at 36 euros.
A season until April 10th
These new features will accompany a winter program from December 19, 2026 to April 10, 2027. The Karellis will also be returning to their major events, including the Winter K’Games, which will celebrate their tenth edition in February, and the Grande Odyssée, scheduled for January 18 for the penultimate stage of the season. the famous sled dog race.

Targeted new features, therefore, rather than a deep transformation. A logic that is quite faithful to this station that was founded in 1975 around an associative and collective model, where accommodation, packages, equipment, and even children’s clubs can still be combined into a single stay package.
