Eight new features await holidaymakers at the resorts in the two Savoie regions for the 2026-2027 season, unveiled in a joint press release: an exhibition under the frozen lake of Tignes, a belvedere walkway in Val Cenis, two tables, a mobile sauna, an aquarelle hiking trail and two accommodations in the 3 Vallées.
A white bear, a beluga whale, a harbour porpoise and a Greenland shark under the ice of a Savoyian lake: that is what it promises Tignes from December 15th. Named «Here begins the ocean», the exhibition of the painter Laurence Chilin and the polar explorer Alban Michon immerse paintings on plexiglas under the frozen surface of the lake, at an altitude of 2,100 meters.
Divers will discover it from below until February 13, 2027; from February 13 to April 30, the nets will reach the coast, accompanied by a pedagogical trail on the links between glaciers and marine ecosystems. The organizers present it as a world first.
126 meters above the ground in Val Cenis
A change of perspective in Haute Maurienne. In Val Cenis, the Vanoise Experience walkway is 126 meters long and 4 meters wide, more than ten meters high at the Replat des Canons, at the arrival of the cable car from Roches Blanches.
Practical all year round for skiing, hiking, mountain biking and for people with reduced mobility, the wooden and steel structure dominates the Vanoise National Park and its glaciers. Suspended walkways, toboggans, observation towers and interactive devices are featured in four thematic areas (biodiversity, alpine landscapes, glaciers, contemplation). Equipment costs: 2.4 million euros.
Eight guests around the chef, 35 seats under one star
Return to Tignes for dinner. The Suites of Montana (three stars) inaugurate « La Bulle », a transparent structure facing the peaks where only eight people sit around Chef Malik El Khattari, who prepares, cooks and serves a seven-course menu in front of them, renewed every week (135 €).
In Haute-Savoie, the Table d’Armante, restaurant of the’Hotel Armancette (five stars) in Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce, he is embarking on his first winter season with the Michelin star he earned in March, ten months after the arrival of chef Thomas Vonderscher. Poissons du Léman, cheeses from nearby farms, Savoyard poultry and desserts from pastry chef Gauthier Chaffard, for 35 covers, from December 11 to April 4. Menus at 95 and 125 €, 35 € for children.
Sauna by the lake, watercolor on a skateboard
À Samoëns, A mobile sauna made of cedar, heated by a wood fire, is installed on the shore of Lake Dames from December 1st to April 30th, from Friday to Sunday (15 € per hour). The most daring can combine this with a cold water bath supervised by a coach. The unit can also be delivered to the garden of a chalet, for four hours to four days, starting at 220 €.
At Foreclosures, Audrey, a mountain guide, offers a hiking trip interspersed with an hour and a half watercolor break overlooking the Beaufortain and Mont-Blanc. Everyone goes home with two creations in the size of 12 x 16 cm (50 €, equipment provided; ages 8 and up, five participants maximum).
Two new addresses in the 3 Vallées
At Menuires, The four-star hotel Fahrenheit Seven Open on December 11, just steps from the Preyerand cable car: 51 rooms for two to six people decorated by Véronique Vidoni, co-founder of the brand; a glass-walled spa with a heated pool reserved for adults in the evening; a restaurant with 110 seats and a 200 m² south-facing terrace with a DJ for après-ski. Starting at €300 per night in a double room, including breakfast.
À Saint-Martin-de-Belleville Finally, the Chalet Montana The result of two and a half years of work. On 490 m², its owners, a French family, have combined without a decorator the references of the American Great West with local materials (travertine, Belleville stones, alabaster, wood), with a swimming pool, outdoor Jacuzzi, sauna, cinema room and views of the village bell tower. Prices start from €18,995 to €29,995 per week depending on the season.
