La Plagne It opens its 2026-2027 season with several changes, both on the resort and in the area itself. An % electric 100-seater gondola will be tested in its full size, a new night train will connect the Netherlands and Belgium to the Tarentaise, the MMV at Plagne Aime 2000 will reopen after renovation, and the famous Bonnet Rouge will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a new graphic identity.
Next winter will be a taste of something new La Plagne. If the ski area is open to holidaymakers from December 12, 2026 to April 24, 2027, several changes will be noticeable from the very first weeks of the season.
The most spectacular will take the form of a carousel. The station is part of the three pilot areas chosen by the Compagnie des Alpes to test an % electric model 100 designed by PRINOTH, before its global commercialization announced for the winter of 2027-2028.

The drivers are expected to take over the operation of the vehicle in early December. It will join a fleet of 32 dump trucks that are already operating at the HVO. Compagnie des Alpes highlights, in particular, a projected reduction of 20% % in maintenance costs and 50% % in operating costs, as well as a virtually silent and emission-free operation.
A new night train from Amsterdam
Another notable arrival: the new night train service. After the Travel Night Express between Paris and Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Travelski extends its deployment to the Netherlands and Belgium.
The train will serve Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Brussels before arriving in Aime-la-Plagne on Saturday morning at 8:45. Fifteen round trips are scheduled between December 18 and March 27, with 400 couchettes departing from Amsterdam. The ticket alone will be offered from 99 euros one way, while package holidays will start at 900 euros.
There is also movement on the accommodation side. Closed following a fire that occurred in April 2025, the MMV residence-club in Plagne Aime 2000 is scheduled to reopen in December after major renovations. Its return represents an additional 480 market beds.
The Red Bonnet celebrates its 60th anniversary
2027 will also mark a very symbolic anniversary. The famous La Plagne Red Hat, created in 1966 during the station’s participation in the television show Interneige, He blows out his 60 candles.
For the occasion, the destination has adopted a new graphic identity created in collaboration with the Lyon-based agency Night Session. The historical character is being featured more prominently in the communication, with several variations and animations planned throughout the season.
On January 13, 2027, La Plagne will even resume its history by offering a revisited version of Interneige. The host stations of the 2030 Olympic Games and players in the mountain world must come together around playful events and informal encounters.
Finally, the changes will also affect safety. This winter, La Plagne plans to remove 80 % of the banners installed on the slopes, which are deemed too numerous to remain truly visible. They will leave more space for triangular signs inspired by road signage, placed in the most strategic locations.
