Faced with rising coastal prices, several resorts are looking to reposition the mountains as an affordable option. In Vaujany, Flaine, Orcières, Valloire, or even in domains operated by Altiservice, Summer 2026 will be organised around a single objective: to offer free activities, multi-leisure passes and combined offers to attract families and holidaymakers with a controlled budget.
In some stations, free access becomes a central lever. Vaujany, Each week, over fifty free activities are on offer. The programme alternates between sports, cultural outings and festive events. Morning exercises, tournaments, concerts and children's workshops punctuate the days with no need for registration.
À Flaine, the model is even more structured. The Flaine Summer Pass allows access to over thirty activities, subject to staying with a partner accommodation provider. This system, which has been in place for almost twenty years, serves as a commercial argument for residences and hotels. For external visitors, the pass remains accessible on a daily or weekly basis, with regulated prices.
A more educational and immersive mountain
The free offer is not limited to classic attractions. Several regions are developing experiences focused on environmental discovery.

In Haute-Tarentaise, at the Little Saint Bernard Pass, a guided walk offers children the chance to explore alpine flora through a sensory approach. The activity takes place every week in July and August, upon registration.
À Orcières, a workshop led by a local chef invites you to discover edible mountain plants. The event takes place in mid-summer and is aimed at families. The objective is to share knowledge related to the region, at no extra cost to participants.
Passes and bundled offers to master the budget
In parallel, several operators are developing formulas to simplify access to activities. For example, Altiservice offers a rechargeable card providing discounts on ski lifts. Other offers combine activities and equipment, particularly in the Pyrenees.
In Valloire, the E-Pass Loisirs offers unlimited access to several facilities, including ski lifts, the swimming pool, and the ice rink. The scheme aims to consolidate expenses into a single pass, with prices tailored for multi-day stays.
