Each winter brings its fair share of surprises, and the Oisans resort does not break the rule for the 2026/2027 season, open from 28 November to 2 May. New snow-sliding activity, brand-new restaurants, an additional star and innovations on the ski area: an overview of the real new features to discover this year in 2 Alps.
A new snow motorcycle
It's THE hair-raising new craze on the slopes. Named the E-Trott-Rider, this activity swaps skis for all-terrain electric scooters, equipped with oversized tyres to grip the snow.
To be tested in the Vallée Blanche sector, it promises unprecedented driving thrills on the white carpet. Accessible from age 14 and fully supervised by qualified instructors, it adds to the range of off-beat experiences that are the resort's trademark.
New-generation drones and snow groomers
While no new ski lift is announced this season, the ski resort is instead focusing on technological innovation. Les 2 Alpes is now relying on surveys carried out by drones equipped with LiDAR sensors, capable of accurately measuring the thickness of the snowpack across the entire resort. This provides a detailed mapping of snow distribution and allows the condition of the slopes to be monitored in real time.
The resort has also designed its own snow-depth measurement system, an in-house tool that will be rolled out this winter across the entire fleet of piste bashers. Bringing together snow production, grooming and depth monitoring within a single platform, this innovation aims to manage the ski area with greater precision, efficiency and responsiveness.
New tables and one star more
Regarding gastronomy and accommodation, several new experiences await food lovers. The legendary 4-star hotel institution, Le 1879 – La Table des Mounier, opens its historic dining room this season to everyone, including outside guests, for a culinary journey focused on sharing. A nod to the construction of the family's very first refuge in 1879. Still at the foot of the Jandri, the’Hotel Les Lutins earns a well-deserved 3rd star, following a renovation carried out with a distinctly eco-responsible approach.
Those who love a friendly atmosphere will push open the door of Mate's, a new restaurant run by a passionate trio, focusing on large sharing platters, traditional French cuisine and very accessible prices. Finally, to recharge your batteries, the resort is welcoming a brand new holistic sanctuary, Terres Almā, designed by Julie Chalvin, featuring therapeutic massages, maderotherapy and coaching on the programme.
And for the spring, a giant airbag, a French first
One last new attraction awaits thrill-seekers, but you will have to wait until the spring. From May onwards, at the foot of the Jandri, the Les 2 Alpes Airpark will roll out France's first giant big airbag: a 53-metre cushion and 10- and 16-metre ramps with a synthetic run-up, designed to welcome international freestylers.
From May to November, Les 2 Alpes will thus become the country's only high-level airbag training spot, which can be used even without snow. A fine extension of the «new tempo» of a resort that now operates nine months out of twelve.
