Visit Haute Tarentaise Vanoise, In summer 2026, the focus will largely be on cycling. Whether it's gravel, e-mountain biking, road cycling, or family outings, the Savoyard region is rolling out numerous new offerings and events to attract a broader summer clientele.
With new trails, cycle climbs, and a festival dedicated to mountain biking, the valley aims to establish itself as an accessible playground for all riders.
A new loop between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Tignes
Among the season's new features, «La Fario» becomes one of the territory's new core routes. This e-MTB and gravel trail connects Bourg-Saint-Maurice à Tignes over 40 kilometres.

The route alternates between greenways, paths and trails with a deliberately moderate difficulty. Several access points allow you to join the route en route and charging stations are installed along the route for electric bikes.
Intended for families and regular users alike, the route can also be combined with the bus lines equipped with bike racks between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Tignes.
New events around cycling
The summer calendar is also expanding with several events.
From 12 to 14 June, the Vélo Vert Festival will be held for the first time in Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Les Arcs. This outdoor cycling show combines equipment testing, rides, races and entertainment. Around fifteen events are scheduled, ranging from gravel to enduro, including e-bike and children's formats.

Another new event, the Alpine Gravel, will make its debut on August 9th. Two routes are on offer, starting from Séez, with loops of 62 or 86 kilometres. The routes pass through Villaroger, Les Arcs, and Les Chapelles, on forest tracks and high-altitude paths.
Finally, on September 6th, «La Bernardette» will allow you to climb the Petit-Saint-Bernard pass on a road closed to cars. This 24-kilometre cycling climb is not about pure performance but about a more relaxed approach, with everyone setting their own pace up to the Italian border.
A valley that's banking on sustainable mobility
Beyond sporting events, Haute Tarentaise is also developing more contemplative projects around cycling.
All summer long, the greenway between Séez and Villaroger will host the photographic exhibition «Reflets du vivant» (Reflections of Life). Installed along the 24-kilometre cycle path, it will feature photographs of the mountains and their inhabitants.
More accessible routes remain at the heart of the offering too. The Dôme de Vaugelaz loop, starting from Bourg-Saint-Maurice, crosses villages and alpine pastures over 26 kilometres with a profile suitable for e-MTBs and discovery gravel riding.
