From 20 June to 30 August 2026, the high-altitude domain of Serre Chevalier reopens its ski lifts and, with them, a life-sized playground beyond 2,000 metres. But this summer, the real novelty awaits visitors from August with an unprecedented fun trail made up of giant slides and a suspended footbridge.
The lifts are opening one by one over the coming weeks. From 20 June, the Casse du Bœuf chairlift, in the Villeneuve area, will be the first to open, providing access to 70 % in the bike park.
From 27 June, it will be the turn of the Chantemerle sector – Ratier cable car, Chantemerle cable car, Combes and Grand Serre chairlifts – to serve the giant zip line, mountain karts, downhill scooters, via ferrata and electric scooter rides.
Adrenaline levels are rising
On 4 July, the Prorel cable car lifts hikers to the trails and picnic area at the Croix de la Nore, equipped with planchas, tables, and telescopes for a real barbecue at the summit. The Bachas chairlift in Monêtier then complements the offering for hiking and via ferrata.
For thrill-seekers, the menu is hearty. The giant zip line promises a 1,100-metre descent through the air at almost 100 km/h, while the mountain kart – a small, motorless three-wheeled vehicle – speeds down the slopes downhill.
The bike park offers eleven trails for all levels (two green, two red, six blue, and one black), served by eight lifts, with a new route to discover this season. Two via ferrata complete the offering: the Rocher Blanc via ferrata, from the summit of the Chantemerle cable car, and the Neyzets via ferrata on the Monêtier side, which is longer but without difficulty.
A new fun trail for all the family
It's the big attraction of the summer. From August, in the Chantemerle area, a 1.5-kilometre path with a 300-metre ascent will link the end of the zip line, at Grand Alpe, to the Ratier plateau.
On the programme: an 80-metre-long suspension bridge and a succession of giant slides, accessible from 1.10 m. Throughout the route, modern and interactive displays reveal the local wildlife, flora and secrets of the region.
Moreover, for a more contemplative experience, off-road electric scooter rides offer an ecological way to discover mountain paths, supervised by a qualified instructor, winding through larch forests, alpine meadows, and offering panoramic views of the Écrins massif. New routes are also being offered this summer (for ages 14 and over, and a minimum height of 1.40m).
