Between sky and mountains, Méribel is offering an extraordinary evening: a gourmet dinner devised by a Michelin-starred chef... served in the cabins of the Saulire cable car. An experience as rare as it is spectacular.
In the major Alpine resorts, there's no shortage of unusual experiences. But this one takes the concept a step further. In Méribel, a lucky few will be able to enjoy a dinner suspended in mid-air, directly aboard the Saulire Express cable cars.
The principle is simple but spectacular: climb to the summit of the Saulire, at an altitude of almost 2,740 metres, then enjoy a gourmet menu imagined by the Michelin-starred chef Laurent Azoulay, while flying over the snow-covered slopes.
An immersive experience that transforms a simple ski lift into a veritable panoramic restaurant.
A gastronomic dinner... in the air
The evening begins in the Saulire lounge with an aperitif accompanied by savoury bites and a cocktail called «Sommet de la Saulire». The scene is set. Magnificent views, evening light on the summits and a hushed atmosphere at an altitude of over 2,700 metres.
Then it's time for the main experience. Guests are seated in the gondola cabins, which have been specially designed to accommodate four people. During the rotation over the ski area, dinner is served in several stages.
The menu created for the occasion is a revisiting of Alpine gastronomy. For starters, the chef offers flaked Mediterranean crab with Provence citrus fruits, accompanied by a light lemon caviar emulsion.
The main course features Montbéliarde beef chuck, served Rossini-style with foie gras, pommes paillasson and red wine jus with marrow.
The dessert concludes the evening with a creation based on Manjari chocolate and Piedmont hazelnuts: creamy, ice-cream and crispy praline make up this «tear of chocolate» designed as a gourmet signature.
A rare evening in the 3 Vallées valley
Each dish is accompanied by carefully selected wines, including a Chablis premier cru Montée de Tonnerre and a Côte-Rôtie from Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin.
This type of experience is exceptional in the mountains. The event is organised in small groups, with limited cabins to ensure the privacy of the evening.
After the gondola ride for the starter and main course, dessert is served again in the panoramic lounge at La Saulire. Guests end the evening facing the snow-capped peaks, in a calm, timeless atmosphere.
With its star-studded cuisine, night-time panoramic views and the sensation of floating above the slopes, this evening transforms one of the resort's iconic lifts into a truly suspended gastronomic experience. It's an unexpected way to rediscover the mountain... by taking in the view from above.
