At an altitude of 2,188 metres, where the Haute Tarentaise cross paths with the Valle d'Aosta, a new gourmet event is about to see the light of day. On Sunday 7 September 2025, the Petit Saint-Bernard pass will play host to the first edition of "A Tavola", an event celebrating Alpine cuisine in all its richness, combining pastoral traditions, Italian influences and contemporary creativity.
From 10am, the more sporty riders will be getting on their mountain bikes or ATVs for the Enduro Gourmand, a one-hour ride between La Rosière and the Col hospice, with a tasting of local produce at the finish.
If you fancy a stroll, you can follow the "Alpine Flavours" walks, guided by FACIM, to discover the mountain plants that have inspired local cuisine for centuries, and leave with some original recipes to try out.
The most eagerly awaited culinary experience will be led by Savoyard designer Perrine Bettin, in collaboration with chef Sophie Bornet from the Auberge-Restaurant de l'Hospice.
Together, they will propose a "A taste experience immersed in the Alpine landscapeA unique sensory journey, where each dish resonates with the surrounding mountains. A unique sensory journey, to be experienced at 11am and 4pm (registration required).
One last party before winter
The event will also provide an opportunity to delve into the pass's thousand-year-old past, thanks to FACIM's guided tours. At 1.30pm, a walk will retrace the great epics of this strategic crossing point between peoples.

At 2pm, the Petit Saint-Bernard hospice will reveal its secrets on its last guided tour of the season.
Free of charge and open to all, "A Tavola" invites the curious, families and gourmets to experience a late summer day like no other, in a timeless natural setting.
Before the annual closure of the pass, scheduled for 22 September, this is an opportunity to combine walking, history and gastronomy, and even to get a taste of Italy, just over the border.
