As the winter season approaches, many winter sports enthusiasts are looking for affordable ski destinations without sacrificing the quality of the slopes or the beauty of the scenery.

1. Réallon (France)

Located in France's Southern Alps, Réallon is renowned for its intimate charm and attractive prices. At an altitude ranging from 1,560 to 2,145 metres, it offers 30 km of varied pistes, ideal for all levels. The majority of the runs (20km) are green and blue, making it an ideal destination for families and beginners.
Thrill-seekers are not left out, with 8km of red runs and 2km of black runs. The view of the Serre-Ponçon reservoir from the summit is spectacular, and the resort enjoys plenty of sunshine, all in a relaxed atmosphere away from the big crowds.
The daily rate is a fixed 29 euros all year round, and affordable accommodation options range from 12 to 19 euros per night depending on the season.
2. Mount Parnassos - Fterolakka/Kellaria (Greece)

Second in the ranking, Mount Parnassos is Greece's largest ski resort, located near the famous ruins of Delphi and around two hours from Athens.
At an altitude of between 1,640 and 2,260 metres, it offers 36 km of pistes for all levels of difficulty, served by 17 lifts. Skiers can enjoy a wide variety of slopes, with four green, seven blue and eight red runs.
As well as excellent snow conditions, the resort offers breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea and surrounding mountains. After a day on the slopes, a visit to the historic sites of Delphi, just an hour's drive away, is a must. A day's ski pass, including accommodation, costs around €46 per person on average.
3. Roubion les Buisses (France)

The third most affordable resort is Roubion les Buisses, in the French Alps. Ranging in altitude from 1,420 to 1,920 metres, this charming mountain village offers 30km of pistes for all abilities, and is equipped with 7 lifts.
Skiers can explore slopes to suit their ability, from gentle slopes to demanding black runs for the more experienced. The warm atmosphere of this Alpine village and its friendly gîtes make it a popular destination for ski enthusiasts looking for an authentic experience.
Ski passes cost €20 in high season, with accommodation starting from €20 per night in low season.
