Linking Le Fayet SNCF station to the centre of Saint-Gervais in just 5 minutes, this gondola lift promises to provide a fast, fluid link, available all year round. With a journey time that is twice as fast as by road, it represents an environmentally-friendly and practical alternative to car use, helping to relieve traffic congestion and reduce the nuisance associated with car traffic.
Up to 1,200 people per hour
One of Le Valléen's major objectives is to reduce CO2 emissions in the region. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 12 to 15 %, this new infrastructure is fully in line with the municipality's ecological ambitions. At the same time, this new ski lift should reduce daily road traffic by 25 % and eliminate 15,000 vehicles a year from the town centre car park.
Scheduled to open on 6 September 2024, it will mark a decisive step in Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc's move towards a more sustainable future. The 10-seater gondola lift, built by POMA, will have a transport capacity of 1,200 people per hour, offering an efficient and environmentally-friendly mobility solution.
