Famille Plus label, Orcières Every winter, the resort fine-tunes its range of activities to suit the needs of tribes, with children discovering the snow at their own pace, while parents enjoy the unspoilt surroundings and a variety of activities. Once again this winter, the resort is offering a host of great deals, immersive experiences and festive events. Here's a look at what makes the resort such an inspired family haven.
1. A simplified stay with the Horizon Pass

As well as ski lifts, this pass includes unlimited access to the Palais des Sports swimming pool and ice rink. It's a simple way of alternating between skiing and indoor leisure activities, without the need for multiple tickets or logistical constraints. A modern vision of the resort, where everything is within easy reach, from the great outdoors to shared moments of relaxation.
2. Schoolbag on snow, or how to ski without dropping out of school
Orcières is one of the few resorts to have developed a genuine alternative to the school holidays. With the Schoolbag in the snow, Children aged 6 to 11 can take ski lessons in the mornings and then benefit from school support in the afternoons.
The programme, devised in conjunction with teachers, combines learning with holidays. Offered from the beginning of January to the beginning of February, and again in the spring, this formula appeals to families looking for peace and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle, without compromising on the school rhythm.
3. Sled dogs, a life-size Nordic immersion
On the unspoilt plateau of Rocherousse, the experience takes on a whole new dimension. Accompanied by musher Philippe Desmurger, who has taken part in the Grande Odyssée several times, families discover the world of mushing.
Depending on your mood, you can let yourself be carried along in the sled or learn to guide a team yourself. The silence of the mountains, the breath of the dogs, the winter light: for children and parents alike, the magic happens instantly.
4. In the footsteps of the chamois, with snowshoes on your feet
Every Friday morning, we head for the village of Prapic, the gateway to the Ecrins National Park. With their snowshoes on, the families set off in search of chamois, often visible in the early hours of the morning.
Supervised by enthusiastic guides, this gentle hike combines wildlife observation, environmental awareness and shared wonder. A contemplative outing that will leave a lasting impression on the youngest visitors.
5. Christmas at home... with Santa himself
In Orcières, the magic of Christmas takes on a very tangible form. On the morning of 25 December, Father Christmas can literally knock on families' doors to hand out presents.
An intimate activity, subject to registration, that turns Christmas Eve into an unforgettable memory for children. A detail that speaks volumes about the attention paid to families.
6. The Tournée des Sommets, a great festive event for children
On 28 February, Orcières will be hosting the Tournée des Sommets, an event entirely dedicated to youngsters.
Fun workshops, an inflatable toboggan run, creative activities and a parade of emblematic characters will punctuate the afternoon on the snow front. It's a free, festive interlude, designed as a huge open-air playground.
