Ski resort property prices are sky-high in the Northern Alps, but it's still possible to invest in the mountains without breaking the bank. To do this, it's best to turn to Vosges or Pyreneeswhere prices per square metre are much more affordable.
In Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle in the Vosges, a square metre is trading at €1,412, or €42,360 for a 30 m² flat. An unbeatable price for a pied-à-terre in the mountains, close to the slopes and snow-covered forests.
Great deals at La Mongie
In the Pyrenees, La Mongie also remains an attractive option, with an average price of €1,786/sq m, making it possible to buy a 30 m² property for €53,580. A godsend for winter sports enthusiasts looking to take advantage of a ski area without blowing their budget.

These resorts offer a cost-effective alternative to the major Alpine resorts, but their lower altitude makes them more vulnerable to capricious winters. The challenge for these destinations is therefore to develop a four-season tourism offering that will appeal to holidaymakers and investors in both summer and winter.
