Bourg Saint Maurice - Les Arcs - There are some brands you'd never suspect. Nestled in the main street in the heart of the old town, " The Court of Miracles "It's like no other. A shop for men, a barber's salon, a tattoo studio, a piercing booth... Here, the worlds intertwine in an atmosphere that is both relaxed and well-groomed. The project is the brainchild of David Balmont and Béatrice Millet, a couple of passionate entrepreneurs who have been based in the Tarentaise region for many years.
"We were a little cramped in our first premises, further up the street. We wanted to consolidate our activities while expanding our offer. The gamble paid off: a year after they set up shop, their hybrid concept is attracting curious onlookers and regulars alike.
An address with a difference
On the ground floor, the shop displays a range of caps, graphic T-shirts, unusual objects and accessories for men. "We're very much a men's concept store. We sell gadgets, headwear, original glasses, carafes engraved with mountain landscapes, anything that's a little out of the ordinary.

Upstairs, the world changes: a barber's chair, shaving products and tattoos in a raw décor. Here you'll find Badass Tattoo, a popular workshop, and Lilypique, for piercings. "The idea was to create a complete, old-fashioned place where you could stroll, chat, have your beard trimmed or buy a stylish cap.
In winter, the clientele is largely made up of holidaymakers, but in summer, second-home owners and local connoisseurs are sure to drop in for a visit.
Locals, tourists... and regular visitors
"We have regular customers who come back every year, every season. They know they'll find something different here, and a real welcome. When it comes to suppliers, the couple are banking on diversity, with 80 % items made in Europe, from France to Italy, via Germany and Portugal.

He, a ski instructor in winter, and she, a former hairdresser who has turned to beard care, form a close-knit duo with strong local roots. "We've spent more years here than in Marseille or the Drôme, the regions we come from. We love this valley, it's where we've got our roots.
Every season, the range evolves. At the moment, patterned t-shirts are all the rage. In winter, warm hats and accessories take over. "We keep things moving and adapting. What we like is to surprise, to offer new things without ever betraying our spirit: that of a free, lively shop where you feel good.
