Alpine skiing fans can start rejoicing. The first resorts will soon be opening their doors.
Once again this year, the legendary Savoyard resorts of Tignes and Val Thorens will be the first to welcome skiers. They plan to open on Saturday 23 November. The resort of Chamonixlocated in Haute-Savoie, is also planning to launch its winter season on the same date, on the Grands Montets ski area.
Montgenèvre, a first in the Southern Alps
The following weekend, from Saturday 30 November, other ski areas will be following suit. These include Montgenèvre in the Hautes-Alpes, Chamrousse, L'Alpe d'Huez and Les 2 Alpes in Isère and Val d'Isère in Savoie, are planning to open their ski lifts. All the other resorts in the Alps will open in December.
