The award, which is based on votes from Internet users around the world assessing the quality of the tourist welcome, is further proof of the international appeal of the Savoie resort.
Located in the 3 Vallées ski area, Val Thorens, nicknamed "Val Tho", is preparing to welcome its first skiers for the season from November 23.
Val Thorens had already won the title back in 2023 from the Swiss resort of Verbier, which had held first place for two consecutive years in 2021 and 2022.
Val Thorens wins nine out of twelve awards
With the exception of this period, Val Thorens has dominated the world rankings for many years, having been crowned 'best ski resort' nine times in the last twelve editions, also surpassing the famous Austrian resort of Kitzbühel, winner in 2015.
For Vincent Lalanne, director of the resort's tourist office, this distinction reflects the work and passion of Val Thorens' teams and partners.
"This distinction rewards the collective effort of the Val Thorens teams and partners. […] We warmly thank our loyal international clientele for their support. This title commits us to continuing our quest for excellence and conviviality.
