Once again this year, the legendary resort in the Valais massif is launching its season ahead of everyone else. From Saturday onwards, the first turns will be made on the Lac des Vaux sector, under a high altitude sun and with snow already well established.
The summits around Verbier have recently wrapped themselves in white.
More than 40 centimetres have fallen over the last few days on the lake, creating an immaculate backdrop that promises an exceptional start to the season. So the winter of 2025-2026 is off to a great start.
First turns of the season
On Saturday morning, as soon as the lifts open, the most impatient skiers will put on their skis to enjoy the first runs. As part of this welcome back to the snow, the very first skiers will be offered a coffee and croissant. It's a warm way of saying hello to those who get up early to enjoy the slopes before everyone else.
The Attelas-Ruinette sector may follow as soon as conditions allow. In November, the domain will only operate at weekends before switching to daily opening from 29 November.
Gourmet break on the slopes
A little bonus to start the season without breaking the bank: a Verbier sector day pass with 20% off every weekend in November.

This weekend, some of the best-known addresses will be welcoming the first gourmets of the season. Le Médran Café from 8.30am to 5pm, Le Flocon from 9am to 4.15pm, Le Châble every day from 8.30am to 5pm and La Tzoumaz, on 15-16 November and 22-23 November from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., then from 29 to 30 November from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
Official launch: see you on 6 December
Once you've worked up an appetite, Verbier will be pulling out all the stops on Saturday 6 December with the Opening Session. A quirky event that has forged its reputation: ski dressed as Saint-Nicolas, a guaranteed festive atmosphere and a ski pass for just CHF 5 for those who play along.
Proceeds from the day will go to charity. It's a generous and convivial way to usher in winter, in true Verbier spirit. The icing on the cake is a special free train service from Geneva to Le Châble on the day. Places are limited.
