Good news for holidaymakers! To meet the growing demand for summer holidays in the mountains, SNCF Voyageurs is announcing a major boost to its TGV service to the Tarentaise region for summer 2025.
From 6 July, nine INOUI TGV return services will run every week between Paris Gare de Lyon and Bourg-Saint-Maurice, compared with seven in 2024. This enhanced service confirms the renewed appeal of the Alps during the summer season, particularly the Tarentaise valley, which is prized for its breathtaking scenery and numerous outdoor activities.

These additional trains will include three direct return services every weekend during the season, from 6 July to 31 August 2025, with stops at Albertville, Moûtiers, Aime-la-Plagne, Landry and Bourg-Saint-Maurice. This enhanced service will facilitate access to major stations such as Les Arcs, La Plagne, Tignes, Val d'Isère and Sainte-Foy Tarentaise.
This enhanced offering is part of a clear commitment to SNCF Voyageurs promote sustainable and accessible mobility, by encouraging car-free access to mountain areas.
Improved access to the heart of the Alps
Choosing the train as the main means of transport not only relieves congestion in the Alpine valleys, which are often saturated in high season, but also significantly reduces the carbon footprint of tourist travel.
Bourg-Saint-Maurice remains a strategic entry point for the Tarentaise, with connections to the resorts via regional shuttles, funicular railways or shared taxis. The timetables offered by SNCF are designed to adapt to arrivals and departures in the resorts.
With direct journeys of around 5 hours between Paris and Bourg-Saint-Maurice, passengers will enjoy optimum comfort, much-appreciated regularity and on-board services suited to long journeys. This service is also designed for families, groups and cycling or hiking enthusiasts, who can travel with their equipment without any major constraints.

In line with the increase in TGV services, the commune of Bourg Saint Maurice Les Arcs, in consultation with ADS and the Tourist Office, has also decided to extend the opening of the funicular until 9pm, with the introduction of inter-station shuttles on these 5 Saturdays to facilitate access to Les Arcs.
