The largest ski area in the Southern Alps, Serre Chevalier is also one of Europe's largest ski areas. Stretching over three villages as far as Briançon, it's a magical playground for winter sports fans.

New products not to be missed
In January 2025, the Serre-Chevalier valley will welcome its very first mountain refuge: the Clôt des Vaches.
Situated at an altitude of 2,250 metres in the Cerces massif, it will have a capacity of 30 beds.

First glides
The season gets off to a great start in Serre-Chevalier! To mark the occasion, on 7 December, the "Premières glisses" weekend will feature free entertainment, ski vouchers and a Social Dance concert with LGMX.

Big end-of-year show
Ready for the show? On 30 December, the year will come to a spectacular end with a show of 500 drones in the skies above the Alps. An unforgettable experience to share with family and friends.

Altitude Jazz Festival
From 16 to 25 January, locals and holidaymakers alike will be able to take part in concerts all over the resort, in special venues and bars in the valley, as well as on the slopes.

The ski area
The Serre Chevalier ski area covers 410 marked hectares. It includes 60 ski lifts and 80 ski runs (14 green, 25 blue, 28 red and 13 black), 80 of which are at an altitude of over 1,800 metres.

The giant zip line
If you're visiting Serre Chevalier, don't miss out! The giant zip line at the summit overlooks Serre Chevalier at an altitude of 2,491 metres. You'll be able to admire a 360° panorama of the Ecrins National Park and the surrounding mountains, on your own, as a couple or as a family, along a 1,100 metre descent.

Unusual slides
Looking for a change from the usual skis and snowboards? Make way for the snow scooter! A number of rental shops offer snowscoot hire so you can hit the slopes in a fun and original way with your friends.

The Grands Bains de Monêtier
Need to relax? Then head to the last village in the valley, Monêtier-les-Bains. This pretty, picturesque village has been home to "Les Grands Bains" for some years now, a spa and balneotherapy area with naturally hot water gushing out at 44°C. There's also a shop and restaurant on site.

By car
From Marseille, Montpellier, take the A51 motorway via Aix en Provence, Sisteron. Exit at "La Saulce", 90 km from Serre Chevalier.
By train
The nearest train stations to Serre-Chevalier are Briançon and Grenoble. Direct TGV trains from Paris (3h) and Lyon (1h30).
By plane
