Perched at an altitude of 1,600 metres, facing the Aiguilles d'Arves, Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves is gearing up for a winter season packed with new features. Heritage, leisure activities, well-being, snow sports... the Maurienne resort is redoubling its ideas to appeal to young and old alike, combining authenticity and innovation.
A completely redesigned heritage museum
A landmark in local life, the Musée de la Vie d'autrefois is reopening its doors this winter after a complete renovation.
Created in 1977 and run by the ASPECTS association, it is now based in the heart of the Saint-Saturnin church area, in a historic building restored for the occasion.
Here you'll find a precious collection of objects, tools and photographs recounting life in the village in days gone by, a real journey back in time to the heart of Alpine traditions.
A unique zip line in the Maurienne
It's the big news for thrill-seekers: a zipline with bends will be inaugurated this winter in Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves.
Set on the heights of the village, it promises a fun ride combining speed, tight bends and breathtaking views of the snow-covered peaks.
This new activity completes the resort's range of leisure activities and guarantees unforgettable memories for all the family.
A night in a mountain tepee
Looking for an unusual experience? The "Tipi Passion des Arves" outings will plunge you into the atmosphere of the trappers.
After an introduction to mountain survival and a meal under the stars, the evening continues around the fire before an unforgettable night in a heated tipi. A change of scenery guaranteed.
Sled dogs for adventure dreams
There's also something new on the Nordic activities front: dog-sleigh rides are now available at the resort.
Supervised by musher Lionel Villar, these outings combine emotion, sharing and discovery of the great outdoors in a picture-postcard setting.
New well-being services
Winter is also the time to recharge your batteries. Marie Bernand, well-being practitioner, is expanding her range with workshops on massage, natural cosmetics and healthy eating (digestion, immunity, balance). A welcome break after a day on the slopes.
Modernised slopes and an optimised ski area
The Sybelles ski area, the fourth largest in France, is continuing to modernise to make skiing even more comfortable and fluid.
Technical work and improvements to the Saint-Sorlin pistes have enhanced the quality of the network and improved safety for skiers.
