À OrcièresAutumn is more than just a transitional season: it's a time for living to the full, with its flamboyant colours, conviviality and sharing. As the larch trees put on their most beautiful golds and the mountains regain their calm, the resort offers a unique gentleness, ideal for an All Saints' Day getaway with family or friends.
1. A programme of events for young and old
For the All Saints' holiday, Orcières is banking on diversity. Younger visitors can enjoy creative workshops, make-up sessions, an escape game and the traditional Halloween Party.
There's plenty for teenagers and adults too, with yoga in the great outdoors, friendly brunches, a cookery workshop and exhibitions, not forgetting the outdoor laser game for thrill-seekers. In short, Orcières is the place to be.
2. Accommodation to suit every taste
Cosy flats, comfortable hotels, mountain chalets or family-friendly residences: reservation centre d'Orcières offers a wide range of options to accommodate couples, tribes or groups of friends. There's something to suit every budget.
3. Autumn in the mountains
If winter and summer attract the crowds, autumn reveals a more intimate mountain world. At Orcières, the paths lined with golden larches, the mild temperatures and the panoramic views of the Ecrins National Park create a unique atmosphere.
It's the perfect time to take it easy, breathe in the fresh air and rediscover the Alpine landscapes, away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist seasons.
4. A solidarity event: the Col réservé Octobre Rose
The highlight of the holiday season, on Wednesday 22 October, the legendary climb to Orcières will be reserved for cyclists as part of the Pink October campaign, in partnership with the Orcières Cycling Team and the French Breast Cancer League.
- Road closed from 10am, group departure from the village at 10.30am.
- Symbolic participation: €1 donated to the League.
- Refreshments at the finish and official speeches at 11:30 in front of the Merlette Tourist Office.
For those wishing to support the cause, donation boxes will also be set up the week before at the Tourist Office and the OCT shop.
