The appeal of the mountains has grown steadily in recent years. So much so that some resorts have become veritable goldmines.
The property market in the mountains is growing strongly, particularly in the new-build segment.
Professionals in the sector are observing a particular and growing craze for second homes in the mountains. The most popular resorts include Chamonix, Les Gets, Châtel, Méribel, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, Le Bettex and La Rosière.

Property prices in the Alps vary enormously, from €5,000 to €40,000 per square metre. In Haute-Savoie, Chamonix is an ideal destination for families, thanks to its many sporting and cultural activities.
Prices per square metre are negotiated at between 8,000 and 20,000 euros, particularly in ski areas such as Les Houches, Brévent-Flégère, Grands Montets and Vallorcine.

In Méribel (Savoie), new properties are sold at prices ranging from €10,000 to €35,000 per square metre.

The village of Saint-Martin-de-Belleville also attracts a great deal of interest for its setting, with prices per square metre ranging from €10,000 to €15,000, as does Le Bettex, which is proving to be an ideal destination for those seeking peace and quiet (from €9,000 to €11,000 per square metre).

La Rosière also stands out from the crowd, thanks to its southern exposure and exceptional sunshine all year round. New-build prices range from €6,000 to €13,000 per square metre.
Clearly, the property market in the mountains is booming, and the Alps seem to be attracting holidaymakers and investors alike.
