With over 1.1 million searches, Mont Blanc is the cool, wild escape of the season.
There are no crowds here, just snow-capped peaks even in July, thick grass underfoot, and that unique feeling of being tiny in the face of the majesty of the landscape. At a time when heat waves are battering the coasts, many people prefer the pure breath of the mountains to the air saturated with salt and car horns.
The mountains as a playground
Mont Blanc may be a winter icon, but it is also a summer paradise. With family or friends, hikers set off along hundreds of kilometres of trails. The most legendary? The Tour du Mont Blanc, of course, this legendary loop between France, Switzerland and Italy, through flower-filled cols, mountain pastures and high-altitude refuges.
