À TignesSport is more than just a tourist attraction: it's a genuine local culture. For a century, the Club des Sports has been training generations of young people, supporting top-level athletes and bringing life to the resort in both summer and winter.
Created in 1924 and celebrated with dignity last year for its centenary, the Tignes Sports Club has always been at the heart of local life. "Our mission is to train, support and revitalise the resort". explains Cyril Nocenti, the club's sports coordinator.

With its 21 coaches and 250 young members, it remains a major player in local sports training, starting with the most popular discipline: snow sports. From downhill skiing to freestyle, the club's sections range from initiation of the very young to coaching champions such as Laura Gauché and Flavio Vitale, members of the French national teams.

But the club's history is not limited to winter. "We develop a variety of activities throughout the year, including climbing, gymnastics and swimming. continues Cyril Nocenti. This will give all the valley's children access to regular sporting activities, whether they are future champions or simply enthusiasts.
The Tignes Sports Club is not just a breeding ground for athletes, it's also a school for life. "Our aim is for every young person to find their place: whether they become instructors, ski patrollers or mountain professionals, whether they turn sport into a profession or retain a taste for effort and nature". insists the coordinator.
A school for life and champions
Supporting top-level athletes is also a priority. Seven athletes are now part of the 'Top Team' supported by the resort and the local sporting community.
Tignes is known for its dynamic winter season, but the summer season is also booming. "There are more and more activities and more young people". says Cyril Nocenti. With facilities ranging from water jumps to bike parks, we can offer a full range of courses, combining water sports, mountain biking, trail running, hiking in the Vanoise and overnight stays in mountain refuges.
"We're banking on versatility. It's good training for young people and keeps the momentum going all year round. he explains. With a gymnastics section opened two years ago, diversification is continuing.
"There are already 40 children taking part and it's going very well. Why not one day add other disciplines, such as golf? smiles the coordinator, who sees this opening as a way of further enhancing the appeal of the club and the resort. "In Tignes, 95 % of children come through the club, and that's something we're very proud of. We see them progress, blossom and sometimes reach the top.
