Serre Chevalier is getting ready to rock on 8 and 9 February 2025 with a brand new event that combines sliding, technique and adrenalin. The Pumptrack Battle, the brainchild of double Olympic snowboard cross champion Pierre Vaultier, promises a spectacular contest where speed and balance will make all the difference. It's a unique playground where the riders will have to be the last ones standing on a pumptrack line that gets progressively shorter.
Since the end of his competitive career, Pierre Vaultier has lost none of his creativity. After revolutionising snowboarding with his Shapes (2019) and Reshapes (2022) videos, the Serre Chevalier native is at it again with the Pumptrack Battle, an event where daring and mastery of the terrain will make all the difference.

How does it work? A tailor-made line of pumptrack, with a new difficulty: the width of the track narrows progressively, until it's only 50 cm wide! It's a real challenge of balance, with each participant having to use their agility to stay in the saddle until the end.
The programme
Saturday 8 February - The snowboard contest
The weekend gets off to a flying start with a competition open to snowboarders aged 10 and over with a good level of experience. Three events will punctuate the day:
- Solo Run A time trial where the aim is to cover the greatest distance on the pumptrack line, alone against the bumps.
- Trio Run Three riders take off at the same time, with the last one left on the track winning. A challenge where instinct and balance will be the keys.
- Master Creative - Best Tricks The show gets underway with a freestyle session in which the riders will have to perform their best tricks to impress the jury.
Sunday 9 February - Open to all
The following day, the Pumptrack Battle is open to snowboarders and skiers who want to try out the piste without the pressure of competition. It's a unique opportunity to try out this new form of snowboarding, under the watchful eye of Pierre Vaultier himself.
