Les Menuires (Alpes du Nord) - A family resort par excellence in the 3 Vallées, which is the largest ski area in the world, Les Menuires is the best value for money in the area.
Not to be missed
Formerly known as Speed Mountain, the Les Menuires toboggan run has been given a makeover this winter to pay tribute to the history of the valley's fabulous heritage of old mines. It is reopening under the name of "La Mine". For the anecdote, the old coal mines were called the "M'nuires" and gave their name to the resort of Les Menuires.

On this ride aboard the speeding waggons, you can follow the route of the brave miners who worked hard to transport their precious resources down a 100-metre descent. The attraction is open to children aged 5 and over (minimum height: 1.10m) on their parents' sled. From the age of 10 and 1.40m, children must pilot the sled on their own.
- Price : 9€ for one run, 39€ for 5 runs, 69€ for 10 runs and 119€ for 20 runs
- Address: access is in the Bruyères district, where you are welcome from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The ski area
Les 3 Vallées is one of the world's leading ski areas. And with good reason, as it brings together some of the finest resorts in the Tarentaise region, from Courchevel to Orelle, via La Tania, Saint Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires, Val Thorens, and of course Méribel.
The sheer size of the area means you can find good snow at any time of day, following the path of the sun, and moving from the gentle forest of Courchevel de Praz to the high altitude alpine atmosphere at the summit of Cime Caron in Val Thorens.
It's worth noting that the pistes in Les 3 Vallées have the reputation of being the best prepared in the world, thanks to the use of over 70 snow groomers every evening.

In figures Les 3 Vallées is :
- 600 kilometres of pistes
- 330 pistes
- 156 ski lifts
- From 1 100 to 3 230 metres above sea level
Focus on Les Menuires :
- 160 kilometres of track
- 82 tracks in total
- 30 ski lifts
- 12 green slopes
- 40 blue runs
- 22 red slopes
- 8 black runs
- From 1 850 to 2 850 metres above sea level
The Jerusalem piste is recommended for its breathtaking scenery. From the summit of Tougnète, at an altitude of 2,400 metres, you can admire the view over the Méribel valley and the Belleville valley. All you have to do is let yourself slide on this quality snow and you'll be on your way to Saint-Martin de Belleville, a typical 3 Vallées village.
