The new Glacier gondola will be launched on 16 December 2023.
A new page was turned at the end of last winter with the dismantling and sale of the Bellecôte gondola lifts.
While the departure point for the new Glacier gondola will remain the same (Roche de Mio), the line will follow a new trajectory, arriving at an altitude of 3,080 m, in a new sector anchored in the rock.

La Plagne, the only ski area to install its own lifts
Set in a cosy refuge, "Le sixième ciel" offers sweet and savoury snacks indoors or out on the terrace, with a front-row seat for a panoramic view of the Vanoise glaciers.

La Plagne is the only ski area in France to install its own lifts. The new lift is the work of SAP Montage.
"We studied various possible routes to ensure the best possible summer/winter layout with the minimum impact". explained Jacques Chaudan, Technical Director at SAP, on the subject of the environmentally-friendly ERC (Avoid/Reduce/Compensate) methodology.
