À Courchevel, The end of the year is more than just a postcard picture. From 13 December until the early hours of January, the resort is orchestrating a succession of festive, family and gourmet events, all designed to give people a different way of experiencing the mountains.
The big news this winter is that Courchevel is inaugurating its first Christmas market at Le Praz, from 13 December to 2 January.
Eight chalets welcome visitors and holidaymakers in a warm atmosphere of sweet treats and Savoyard specialities.
Hot chocolate, winter wine, waffles, churros and candyfloss sit alongside diots, raclette sandwiches and tartiflette. An essential stop-off point for a gourmet break between two events.
The magic of Christmas, village by village
From 22 December, all the snow fronts will be decked out in enchantment. In Courchevel Village, the evening begins at 4.30pm with hot drinks and a marshmallow party, before a lantern-lit descent at 5pm, accompanied by the arrival of Father Christmas.
The following day, Courchevel Moriond takes up the torch with the same festive spirit, combining gourmet delights with a symbolic moment around Father Christmas, who is eagerly awaited by families.

December 24th is a special day at Courchevel 1850. At the end of the day, the snow front is transformed into an enchanted stage, with entertainment featuring elves, a gospel concert and a torchlit descent by ESF instructors.
The evening continues with the arrival of Father Christmas, for a suspended moment often engraved in the memories of the youngest.
A big New Year
On 25 December, the festivities continue in Le Praz and La Tania. Enchanted breakfast at the Alpinium du Praz with Father Christmas and his elves in the morning, entertainment and the magic of Christmas, then at the end of the afternoon, torch-lit descent and arrival of Father Christmas at La Tania, against a backdrop of hot drinks.
To round off the year, Courchevel 1850 is throwing a New Year's Eve party open to all. From 5pm, children will be treated to their very own New Year's Eve party, complete with DJ, snacks and mascots.
From 9.30pm, the party goes from strength to strength with DJ Yann Muller, followed by a live concert by La Folie Douce. At midnight, fireworks light up the sky before a final clubbing session lasting until 1.15am.
An increased number of shuttle buses and ski lifts will be on hand to ensure you enjoy the evening in complete safety.
