For several years now, Compagnie des Alpes (CDA) has been fully committed to supporting the only French manufacturer of snow groomers, CM DUPON, to launch several experimental projects aimed at developing a low-carbon snow groomer.
Two series of prototype tests were carried out in the winters of 2021/2022 (La Plagne) and 2022/2023 (Tignes), with encouraging results.
Performance in terms of autonomy and consumption has proved conclusive, with a proven autonomy of 5h30/6 hours under real-life conditions.

Thanks to the results of these initial tests, the Group has decided to order eight pre-series of electric snow groomers for use in operations.
Two will be used during the 2023/2024 season and six during the 2024/2025 winter season on all its domains, starting with Serre Chevalier, with the support of the Southern Region.
The CDA aims to convert its entire fleet to electric vehicles
Since 1 June 2021, Compagnie des Alpes has set itself the target of achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2030.
The Group is planning a more massive post-test order for these pre-series vehicles, and is still aiming to convert its entire current fleet of 140 snow groomers to electric power.

" We're delighted to have placed our trust in CM Dupon. The pugnacity and tenacity of this company and its leader have resulted in a world first: the development of a pre-production electric snow groomer that meets our expectations, said Dominique Thillaud, Managing Director of Compagnie des Alpes.
In addition to enabling us to achieve the objectives we have set ourselves, these various initiatives are generating real collective benefits, not least that of supporting a joint low-carbon bid by the AURA and PACA regions for the 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
