À ChâtelFrom December to March, the season is built around a series of highlights that punctuate the resort, from end-of-year festivities to skiing competitions and cultural events. Here is the calendar, in chronological order, as announced by the Tourist Office.
20 December 2025-4 January 2026: "The Christmas and New Year Fair".
For a fortnight, the resort is alive with illuminations, torchlight descents and family events.
The Christmas programme includes a visit from Father Christmas and the distribution of sweets. On 31 December, New Year's Eve is held in the open air, with a DJ, a festive atmosphere and a fireworks display to mark the arrival of the new year.
Saturday 7 February 2026: 3rd UCI Snow Bike World Championships
The Linga is hosting the third Snow Bike event under the aegis of the UCI, concentrated over one day.
On the menu: a super-G, followed by a dual slalom. Participation is restricted to athletes licensed by a UCI-affiliated national federation.
Tuesday 10 February 2026: Farmers' Day
The highlight of a week dedicated to local agriculture, this evening showcases local farms and Abondance cheese.
On the programme: Charivari (a procession on a float to the sound of bells and "potets"), cheese-making demonstrations, a mini-farm, wooden games, musical entertainment and a competition for the best cheese with the public as judges.
Tuesday 17 February 2026: Blessing of skiers and rescuers
The Notre-Dame chapel on the Plaine Dranse site is hosting the 7th blessing dedicated to skiers, pedestrians and mountain rescue teams. The event is open to all.
Tuesday 24 February 2026: Mardi Gras
Carnival parade through the streets of the village led by children from nursery and primary schools, dressed up in costumes and creative around a theme defined in class.
15-21 March 2026: Rock The Pistes & Châtel Bands Camp
At Portes du Soleil, Rock The Pistes will be setting up its temporary stages at 1.30pm, so that you can ski back to your hotel after each concert.
In Châtel, the stage is set up at Plaine Dranse. In the resort, après-ski takes over with the Châtel Bands Camp: concerts in the village by professional artists and open stages where musicians from the public can also perform.
