Vars has always had a flair for celebration. The Hautes-Alpes resort never misses an opportunity to combine music, sport and excitement, because it's a resort that moves heads and unites hearts. Throughout the winter, concerts, competitions and festive evenings will set the resort alight.

The big launch of the season
Snow permitting, Vars will open its doors from 6 December with a great evening of pre-opening. An open-air party, fireworks and the first turns of the season are on the programme, to kick off the winter in good spirits.
A week later, the 13 December, make way for Vars on Stage, the grand opening concert of the ski area. True to tradition, the resort will be welcoming a renowned artist at an altitude of 1850 metres for an exceptional show beneath the illuminated peaks of the Eyssina. It's an unforgettable moment, a blend of electro sounds, fresh snow and festival atmosphere.
Christmas, sliding and thrills
During the end-of-year holidays, Vars is like an open-air stage. From colourful shows will punctuate the Christmas and New Year, while the Vars Ski Show will make children's eyes sparkle every week.
These evenings combining skiing, lighting and music are a reminder that skiing can also be an art form.
Winter of champions
Vars is also the kingdom of speed and freestyle. From 7 to 13 March 2026, the station will welcome European and French Freestyle Skiing Cups, before moving up a gear with the World Speed Ski Championships and the Speed Masters between 14 and 28 March.
The world's best riders and skiers will take to the vertiginous slopes of Chabrières, where records are set.
A musical finale
To round off the season in style, the Gliss & Mix will return from 3 to 6 April 2026, on Easter weekend. This charity event combines sport, DJ sets and solidarity in aid of the fight against cancer.
On the snow front, transformed into a dancefloor, the biggest names on the electro scene - from Feder à The Avener via Ofenbach - the mountains. In six editions, almost 250,000 euros have already been raised for sport therapy programmes.
