Bourg Saint Maurice - Les Arcs - At first glance, the façade is discreet, almost hidden behind the sunny terrace. But as soon as you step through the door, you're in for a real world tour. Since December 2023, " NAWI Restaurant "Arc 1600 offers a unique culinary experience: resort cuisine that's unlike any other, born of a fusion of Benin, Savoyard traditions and recipes from around the world.
At the helm is Nadège Le Mazier, a pastry chef by training, a self-taught chef and a one-woman band in both the kitchen and the dining room. "I am the restaurant she says with a smile, in between services.

between Korma and tartiflette revisited
The à la carte menu breaks down all boundaries. Korma chicken is served alongside ramen soup, sea bream from Bijuy is served alongside chilli tartiflette, and even the Savoyard fondue has a peanut butter twist.

The regulars keep coming back for more. "These three dishes, I can't take them off, they're a hit. And if you add to that a tiramisu with Timut pepper, coffee and speculoos, or a Globetrotter Buddha-bol combining falafel, hummus, Thai marinated chicken and cherry vinaigrette, it's clear that the menu is designed to surprise without ever confusing.
"What I love is taking people on a journey, even if they're skiing. And she has particular fun with her daily specials, where anything is possible: an Indian curry one lunchtime, a Moroccan-style lasagne the next. "I need that to stay creative. Even if the menu travels, I have to travel in my cooking too, every day.
A reinvented venue, a loyal clientele
Housed in a converted snack bar, NAWI Restaurant attracts tourists and locals alike. "It took time for people to accept the idea that we were no longer a bar but a real restaurant. Today, they come just to eat.

The room is warm, the terrace well exposed, and the welcome simple but attentive. You'll meet hikers, instructors, families and the curious who have come from Bourg Saint Maurice via the funicular - which is free and has changed everything. "Many people come up just to have lunch, even if they don't ski.
The restaurant operates in winter, summer and even for a month between seasons, with lunchtime menus for workers. The average basket varies between €15 and €26, but the experience is worth much more: that of sincere, personal cuisine, driven by a desire to please and to help others discover.
