Between top-level competitions, music festivals, festive traditions and unusual events, Serre Chevalier is gearing up for a particularly busy winter in 2025-2026. From December to April, the Briançonnais valley will be buzzing with major events, both on the slopes and in the heart of the villages.
December: the Christmas spirit and the opening of the slopes
Winter kicks off with a bang at the weekend "Premières Glisses" on 6 and 7 December. A festive start to the season, with free events and a low-cost package (€25/day/person for a group of 8).
On 19 and 20 December, Briançon will be hosting the French Elite Figure Skating and Ice Dance ChampionshipsThis is the final qualifying stage before the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.
From 20 December to 4 January, the whole valley will be decked out in Christmas atmosphere, with markets, street shows, fairytale parades, torchlight descents and fireworks. The magic will culminate on 24 December with the arrival of Father Christmas in all the resorts.
January: sport, jazz and the unusual
January will see the return of the Serre Che Snow Trail (17-18 January), with its high-altitude courses and a unique night-time event. At the Col du Lautaret, the snow will be transformed into a playground for the Snow Rugbywhile mountaineering enthusiasts can take on theAlpi Serre Che.

From 15 to 24 January, theAltitude Jazz Festival will resonate throughout the valley: 150 musicians, 38 concerts and 21 venues, from large halls to intimate bars, right down to the snowy slopes.
February: the month of the big shows
In February, it's show time. Visit Demo Ski Show (12, 19, 26 February and 5 March) will showcase the 300 ESF Villeneuve instructors, with demonstrations and acrobatic jumps, before a final fireworks display.
On 19 February, the Aravet snow front will be transformed into an XXL dancefloor for a Big DJ Setwith a big-name artist to follow in the footsteps of The Avener and Feder.
Two major fairy parades will also be bringing Briançon to life on 20 and 27 February, with spectacular staging in the heart of the town centre.
March: snow sports, festivities and a major popular event
The month of March will be packed with key events: the Wine Fair at Chantemerle (7-8 March), the return of the Snowkite Masters at the Col du Lautaret, the Ride On Festival with its banked slalom and festive evenings, not forgetting The Tracea night-time ski touring race in Le Monêtier-les-Bains.

On 21 March, the estate will host the 7th edition of the Grand Prix of Serre Chevalierthe world's largest gathering of amateur skiers, with 2,026 participants expected to take part and a whole host of crazy events all over the resort.
April: the latest sensations and festive notes
The end of the season will again be played out on the tracks with two popular events: the 84 Doors on 12 April in Villeneuve, and The Race for AllOn 5 April at Chantemerle, able-bodied skiers and skiers with disabilities will get together to share their experiences.
Throughout the winter, the Sound of Altitude will be pumping out music in the valley's bars and high-altitude restaurants, with a festive climax over the Easter weekend.
