In 2026, the Mountain of Hell is preparing to write a new chapter in its legend. The legendary mountain bike race of the Les 2 Alpes returns from 18 to 21 June 2026 for a 26ᵉ edition that is already shaping up to be explosive.
For over twenty-five years, the Mountain of Hell has been much more than a competition. It's a meeting in a class of its own, a concentration of mountain biking culture, of pushing yourself to the limit and of conviviality.
The concept remains unchanged: a mass start on snow at an altitude of over 3,000 metres, followed by a hellish 25-kilometre descent with a 2,300-metre drop to the bottom of the valley. First to the bottom wins. Simple, radical, spectacular.
On the terrain, seasoned amateurs and professionals share the same starting line. Snow, rocks, single tracks, freeride sections and black runs in the bike park follow one another without respite.
With the race for young riders
The MOH requires a real level of technique, the ability to read the terrain and physical stamina. It's this blend of commitment and unpredictability that has made the event so famous, attracting nearly 1,300 participants and a huge crowd every year, who come for the show as much as for the atmosphere.
The event has evolved with the times. Since 2025, an E-Bike race has had its own dedicated format, with an adapted route and a specific start, confirming the Mountain of Hell's openness to all forms of mountain biking.
The MOH Kids, launched in 2022, will also be back for a fourth edition: young riders aged 9 to 14 will also be able to taste the adrenalin of the race in a safe environment.
On the registration side, prices are progressive, encouraging the most motivated to start early. Race numbers start at €100, rising to €135 as the event approaches, excluding licences. It's a well-oiled machine for an event that's become an essential part of the summer calendar.
