Nestling in the greenery, this chalet has been completely renovated by the commune of La Plagne Tarentaise is now a place apart, somewhere between authenticity and modernity, taken over by three friends who are as passionate as they are creative. Their idea? To breathe new life into this natural setting while infusing it with a warm and welcoming spirit.
In the heart of the forest
The charm of the place is undeniable. As soon as you cross the threshold, your gaze wanders over the large picture windows, framing a breathtaking view of the surrounding forest.
Inside, the mix of styles hits the nail on the head: the clean lines of the modern furniture sit alongside objects from yesteryear, and at the far end of the room, the wood-burning stove crackles gently, adding an irresistible note of cosiness. It's this blend of past and present that gives Chalet du Bresson its soul.
But the soul of this chalet is also, and above all, its cuisine. The inspiration comes directly from the recipe book of Monique, the grandmother of one of the partners. There's no fuss here, just traditional French cuisine served as it was in the old days, in large family dishes to share.
A warm atmosphere
Imagine sitting down to a steaming pot-au-feu after a two-hour snowshoe hike. It's a simple, comforting moment, where you rediscover the pleasure of old-fashioned meals, just like at Mamie's.
The Chalet du Bresson is much more than just a restaurant: it's a real base camp for nature lovers. Ideally situated at the crossroads of numerous hiking trails, it is the perfect starting point for exploring the region.
And for those who want to venture even further afield, the on-site team offer equipment hire and are happy to share their expert advice, always with a smile.
The icing on the tarte Tatin? It's the warm atmosphere that reigns here, with the clatter of cutlery, laughter and passionate discussions around the dishes. At the Chalet du Bresson, you don't just come to eat, but to experience a suspended moment, where time seems to stand still, just for the duration of a meal... or perhaps longer.
