À Tigneson the southern shore of the lake, Le Terril Blanc is a rare landmark: the resort's only 2-star hotel, open summer and winter, with uninterrupted views over the turquoise waters and peaks of the Vanoise Park. An address that has cultivated a family spirit and unbeatable value for money for over half a century, without denying its roots.
Built in 1967 by Béatrice Leclercq's parents on land donated by her grandfather, the establishment is one of the very first buildings in the new resort.

"It was a wedding present from our grandfather to our parents". she says. "They ran it for 33 years, before it was rented out for a few years. My sister and I took it over in 2019, just before Covid." Today, Béatrice manages the business full-time, supported by her sister part-time.
A welcome just like home
In this picture-postcard setting, the Leclercq family aims for simple, friendly service. The south-facing rooms offer balconies and direct views over the lake, from €109 a night in summer, including breakfast.

"There aren't many two-star resorts left in Tignes. We want to remain accessible". insists Béatrice. In winter, prices vary according to the season, but the spirit remains the same: quality bedding, a tasty breakfast, and the impression that our guests are being spoilt for choice. "to feel a bit at home".

In the summer, the restaurant is partnered with Fabien, a restaurant owner just down the road, who brings the terrace to life with a bar, barbecue at lunchtime, aperitif platters and cocktails at sunset. "It's the perfect complement to our offering, and people love it". smiles Béatrice.
Preserving the family heritage
While the structure retains its original soul, it has evolved in small steps to remain comfortable and responsible. Behind the counter, the wood worked by Béatrice's father is still there.

Recent renovations have included double glazing, refurbished terraces, thermostatic heads in all bedrooms and showers with water consumption indicators. "Every year, we invest a little, with the idea of preserving our heritage while reducing our impact.
Open most of the year, including during certain parts of the season for groups of skiers, Le Terril Blanc remains a unique anchor point in Tignes: a family history rooted in the mountains, with its feet in the water and its sights set on the future.
