In Courchevel, you don't put your skis away without panache. On Monday 21 April, the Savoyard resort will bring the winter season to a close in style with the return of the DerbikeThis is an event as crazy as it is festive, where the mountains change gear.
How does it work? A derby-style mountain bike descent from the summit of La Saulire (2,700 metres above sea level) to Lac du Praz, 1,300 metres below. A mass start, a free route on snow, earth or ice depending on the whims of spring, and a supercharged atmosphere from the first light of day.

On the start line, the spirit is not just one of competition. Visit DerbikeAbove all, it's a celebration of alternative snow sports, a nod to the season that's coming to an end and the one that's just around the corner. From the snow-covered summit to the first buds of Le Praz, the mountain becomes an XXL playground for speed and fun enthusiasts.
A unique event, combining sporting challenge and conviviality
The start will be at 8.30am, after a collective ascent via the Verdons cable car. In just a few minutes, the riders will set off on a frantic descent combining bends cut into the hard snow, rolling sections in the forest, technical sections... and some great slides in store.

The first riders are expected at Le Praz from 8.45am. And because a good run deserves its share of comfort, breakfast and barbecue will be waiting for participants on arrival. The atmosphere promises to be joyous, with fun challenges, surprises and a mountain bike trials show from 10.30am.
A symbol of transition between two seasons
More than just a race, Derbike has become the symbol of the week when winter turns to summer and Courchevel celebrates sport in all its forms. The ski lifts close, but the slopes continue to inspire. Mountain biking, already ready to take over, makes a spectacular debut here.
