When the snow gives way to the mountain pastures, theAlpe d'Huez doesn't go to sleep: it changes face and becomes a life-size playground for thrill-seekers. Flying, sliding, hurtling... Here are three experiences you can try out to experience the mountains in a different way, between heaven and earth.
Mountain Kart: a mountain version of the Mario Kart spirit
Imagine Mario Kart, without a screen and in the middle of the mountains. That's exactly what the Alpe d'Huez summer mountain kart offers. On three wheels, low to the ground, you can take to the track at Marcel's Farm, helmet on and handlebars in hand.

There are no red shells or banana skins here, just trajectories to optimise over clods of earth, hairpin bends and natural terrain. It's an exhilarating, life-size game of skill to be enjoyed with friends or family. Every descent is different, and every trajectory has to be invented. And the laughs are guaranteed.
Paragliding: the mountains from the sky
It's a promise of absolute freedom. A bird's eye view of Alpe d'Huez and the Bourg d'Oisans valley. Take off at 2108 metres from Le Signal, and land gently at an altitude of 700 metres: with its 1400 metre vertical drop, this paragliding descent is one of the most spectacular in the Alps.

In a two-seater with an instructor, the most daring can even try their hand at flying, against a backdrop of breathtaking panoramic views between Grandes Rousses and Écrins. Twenty minutes of pure pleasure, between adrenalin and contemplation. A descent that follows the 21 legendary bends of the Alpe climb, combining the thrill of flight with the history of cycling.
Sledging on rails: the thrill of sliding, summer and winter alike
We thought sledging was only for snowflakes. But the Alpe d'Huez tobogganing track is open in summer and winter. With two people in a streamlined sled, you're off on a rhythmic descent, with accelerations, banked bends, waves, chicanes and jumps.
