With new downhill trails, themed electric mountain bike routes and a cycle climb open all summer, the valley is expanding its range of two-wheeled activities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the heights of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valthorens.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Val Thorens<\/a>, A number of downhill mountain bike trails have been added. Three new trails have been added to the existing area, accessible from the 2 Lacs gondola. One green, one blue and one red track have been added, with different profiles to suit different levels of rider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A slopestyle area has also been created in the centre of the resort. With evolving modules and progressive lines, the area allows riders to train in a safe environment. On site, the teams describe the layout as being designed to support progression, without reserving the facilities for experienced riders only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Itineraries to discover the region in a different way<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Vall\u00e9e des Encombres, a new electrically-assisted mountain bike route offers a more contemplative approach. The route takes you through hamlets and mountain pastures, passing close to farms. You can stop off at the Gittamelon refuge halfway along the route. The route remains accessible, with a moderate gradient, and is aimed at a public wishing to discover the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A second, longer route follows the course of the Doron. Over a 26-kilometre round trip, it examines the use of water in the valley, from energy production to human activities. The route is easy going, and takes around three hours to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A pass open all summer for cyclists<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Another notable development is the opening of the Col de Tougn\u00e8te to cyclists throughout the summer season. From Mo\u00fbtiers, the climb exceeds 30 kilometres.
