The queues are getting shorter, the terraces are slowly filling up and the slopes are breathing easier.

It is precisely this period, from 9 March to 19 April 2026, that Serre Chevalier intends to capitalise on with the Marsien Pass, a national scheme run by France Montagnes.

Great skiing... until 19 April

The principle is simple: when skiers buy a ski pass, they get 100 % free. Free drinks, reductions on activities, discounts on equipment hire or ski lessons... the ski pass is no longer limited to access to the lifts. It becomes a passport to a day out on the slopes.

READ MORE: In the Hautes-Alpes, this small, inexpensive ski resort is the secret spot for powder lovers.

When it comes to snow sports, the Hautes-Alpes still has some solid arguments. Nearly 80 of the ski area's % are located above 2,000 metres, a guarantee of quality snow at the end of the season. The lifts remain open until 19 April, so you can make the most of the last third of winter.

In March and April, the days become brighter, the temperatures milder and the snow softer on the surface, particularly in the late morning. Spring skiers appreciate this more comfortable feeling under their skis, without giving up reliable conditions at altitude.

An optimised stay

On the budget front, Serre Chevalier's central booking office is offering deals combining accommodation for four people, a six-day Serre Che Addict package and a Marsien Pass. In March, prices start at €346.50 per person instead of €400.50. In April, they start at €281 per person instead of €335.50.

For David Chabanal, Director of the Serre Chevalier Tourist Office, This strategy responds to a changing market. «After mid-March, we see a drop in visitor numbers in the mountains. This is not unique to Serre Chevalier. January has become a much busier month in recent years, perhaps to the detriment of March and April. France Montagnes has identified this as a national concern, and is now proposing this dynamic with the Marsien Pass, which we support.»

READ MORE: A crazy crowd, a «BoardercrossFit» and a final tunnel: the Grand Prix de Serre Chevalier promises to be a wild ride (and it's great).

The manager insists on the local assets. «Our strength lies in the very good skiing that we still offer in the last third of the season, but also in our ancillary offers such as the Grands Bains du Monêtier and the heritage offer.
