The distances, the terrain, the lack of regular services and the ageing of the population make certain essential journeys difficult. From 2 February 2026, a social transport-on-demand service will be extended to the whole of the Alps.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hautetarentaise.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Haute Tarentaise <\/a>and Les Versants d'Aime is a response to this reality. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This scheme is aimed exclusively at permanent residents aged 65 and over, as well as people with disabilities recognised by the MDPH. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim? To enable these residents to continue to travel for medical appointments, shopping, administrative formalities or everyday activities, without having to systematically depend on a relative or give up certain journeys for lack of a suitable solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>READ MORE: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/petit-montagnard.fr\/en\/what-is-this-new-bus-line-that-is-changing-life-in-the-haute-tarentaise\/\">What's this new bus service that's changing life in the Haute Tarentaise?<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously limited to just part of the area, the service now covers the whole of the two communities of communes, from Bourg-Saint-Maurice to Les Versants d'Aime, including S\u00e9ez, Villaroger, Val d'Is\u00e8re, Tignes, Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise, La Rosi\u00e8re, Aime-la-Plagne, Landry, Peisey-Nancroix and Les Chapelles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A geographical extension that at last provides continuity of service between the different sides of the valley, where conventional transport quickly shows its limitations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Maintaining independence <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In practical terms, the service operates on a pre-booked basis.
