On 26 and 27 July, the traditional F\u00eate de la Madelon will set the heart of this Savoyard hamlet beating with its heritage, music and conviviality.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Celebrated since the Middle Ages in honour of Saint Mary Magdalene, the village's patron saint, the Madelon has become a highlight of local life over the centuries. Even today, it brings back to life the gestures, costumes and atmosphere of village festivals of yesteryear, in a unique setting: the cobbled streets of Le Praz and the peaceful shores of its lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Soup, a symbol of sharing<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the heart of the event is a ritual that has brought the locals together for generations: the soup kitchen. Prepared the day before in a huge 600-litre cauldron and stirred by hand in front of the chapel, it simmers for a long time before being served in loaves of bread. Accordions, alphorns and festive groups accompany visitors throughout the evening.
