There's no need to wait for the summer holidays to breathe easy. From June onwards, the 2 Alps are coming out of winter with their feet firmly on the ground. On the contrary: the Isère resort is starting its summer season with a bang, with skiing, major sports shows and the first steps towards the summits. While the heat settles in on the plains, here it's the altitude that takes over, offering a breath of fresh air, adrenalin and freshness.

Here are five reasons to give in to the call of the mountains, in complete tranquillity, just before the hustle and bustle of July.

Away from the heat and overheated asphalt, Les 2 Alpes is a refreshing break. Lakes, waterfalls, torrents, high altitude: nature becomes natural air conditioning. In June, it's the perfect time to discover the joys of white-water swimming, try your hand at paddle-boarding or rafting, or simply stroll along the lakeside with the family. The atmosphere is still peaceful, and the views are already breathtaking.

It's often in June that you get the urge to do a bit more. And that's just as well: the resort offers a host of activities accessible from a very young age. From the age of 10, you can go roped up for a glacier hiking at 3600 metres. For a gentler form of immersion, head for the bivouac at 2100 mcampfire, storytelling under the stars and brunch facing the Écrins.

READ MORE: Les 2 Alpes: races, festivals...
