It's a part of the history of Courchevel<\/a> which is about to change hands. On Saturday 24 May 2025, the resort is organising an auction like no other: 160 legendary gondolas, those of the Chenus and Ariondaz, will be on sale from \u20ac300 each. It's a rare opportunity to walk away with a piece of suspended history, somewhere between nostalgia and mountain design.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Alpinium hall in Courchevel Le Praz will be hosting this unusual event, which will appeal to mountain lovers, interior design enthusiasts and collectors alike. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

95 Chenus cabins (manufacturer Sigma\/Poma<\/a>dating from 1994) and 65 Ariondaz cabins (Swiss manufacturer CWA, 2001) will be auctioned from 2pm, after a morning of open viewing for potential buyers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A design object full of emotion<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

These cabins, which we've all used one day to reach the summits of Courchevel 1850 or Moriond, embody an era. They have seen generations of skiers pass through them, and have seen storms, icy auroras and sunsets at altitude... <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From simple transport objects, they have become cult pieces. And in the hands of an enlightened amateur, they can be transformed into a vintage telephone box, an unusual sauna, a glass office or simply a work of art in a garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as the heritage and decorative aspects, the sale will also have a social dimension: all profits will be donated to charities working in the fields of social and environmental protection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
