Due to be inaugurated in December, it promises to transform the experience for skiers and hikers in both winter and summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After decades of loyal service, the old Quatre Termes two-seater chairlift, which dates back to the 1980s, was replaced over the summer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faster, safer and more modern, this new chairlift is a real revolution for the sector. It is now capable of transporting 1,200 people an hour to an altitude of 2,500 metres, the highest point in La Mongie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An iconic track and new possibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With its 10 pylons and 80 four-seater seats, this strategic investment meets the expectations of alpine skiers, off-piste enthusiasts and hikers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Les Quatre Termes chairlift serves the run of the same name, an emblematic descent of the Grand Tourmalet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>READ MORE: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/petit-montagnard.fr\/en\/once-upon-a-time-the-tourmalet-pass-a-myth-in-the-pyrenees\/\">Once upon a time: the Col du Tourmalet, a myth in the Pyrenees<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Known for its excellent snow cover, this piste has long attracted thrill-seekers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But this new facility doesn't stop there: it also opens up new routes for ski touring and off-piste skiing, making the area even more attractive to skiers looking for variety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A chairlift designed for winter and summer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While winter remains the Grand Tourmalet's flagship season, the Les Quatre Termes chairlift has also been designed for summer use. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hikers can use it to gain easy access to the N\u00e9ouvielle Nature Reserve, a site renowned for its breathtaking scenery and exceptional biodiversity. This four-season aspect makes the ski area even more attractive outside the ski season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It meets the needs of a sector that is very popular with alpine skiers and ski tourers.
