The new Jandri 3S cable car, which will rise from Les 2 Alpes at an altitude of 1,650 m to 3,200 m, will be operational in December 2024. With just a few months to go before the inauguration of this new lift, the only one of its kind in France, we take a look at the current situation. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is one of the flagship projects of the 2 Alps<\/a>A long-awaited event: the replacement of the historic DMC Jandri Express, built in 1985, by the brand-new Jandri 3S Express, a veritable technological jewel.<\/p>\n\n\n

With double the capacity, this new lift, halfway between a gondola lift and a cable car, will be able to carry up to 3,600 people per hour, compared with 1,400 up to now, with the time taken to climb to 3,200 m reduced from 40 to just 18 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"A significant improvement in terms of comfort, speed, safety and energy consumption\".<\/em>said Eric Bouchet, Director of the Les 2 Alpes Tourist Office. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Site visits organised this summer <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Work in progress It was \"spectacular, with almost 40 kilometres of cable to unwind and technicians suspended more than 80 metres above the ground\".<\/em> which began in summer 2023 and will be completed this winter. <\/p>\n\n\n
