Will you recognise the sabot-de-V\u00e9nus, the ancolie noire, the horminelle des Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es or the lis martagon? The whole art of sawing, cutting and chopping wood will be showcased on this festive day, when lumberjacks compete against each other in tests of strength and speed. <\/p>\n\n\n While it's all in good fun, it's important to remember that these men are real athletes, and that the discipline requires great precision. With its pointed roof, the Lacs Merlet refuge resembles a hut. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It sleeps 14 people in its one and only living room, and has no bathroom facilities. Spending a night here is a chance to get away from it all and let go, for a return to the true meaning of life.
