It is also regularly cited as <a href=\"https:\/\/petit-montagnard.fr\/en\/world-ski-awards-a-french-ski-resort-voted-best-in-the-world\/\">the best resort in the world<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2) Portes du Soleil (Haute-Savoie\/Switzerland)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Situated between France and Switzerland, this ski area is one of the largest in Europe. It is named in honour of French skier Jean-Claude Killy, three-time Olympic alpine skiing champion in 1968.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ski area was developed with the Olympic Games in mind.
