Winter tyres are compulsory for driving in the 34 d\u00e9partements that have said yes to the\u00a0Mountain Law<\/a>. Failure to comply with this requirement could result in a fine of up to 135 euros.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formerly known as snow tyres, the term winter tyres is now used to emphasise that this type of tyre is suitable for all winter conditions, not just snow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
