Although it is becoming increasingly rare and the summer season is getting shorter with global warming, summer skiing in France is still possible on some of our glaciers. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the case at Les 2 Alpes and Tignes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les 2 Alpes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Deux Alpes ski resort in the French Alps is one of the few resorts to offer skiing in summer, thanks to its skiable glacier. <\/p>\n\n\n

Europe's largest skiable glacier, perched at an altitude of 3,600 metres, the Glacier des Deux Alpes is the benchmark for summer skiing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With seven ski lifts, two gondolas, a funicular railway and a cable car, the summer resort offers 90 hectares of marked runs, as well as a renowned snowpark. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tignes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Also in the Northern Alps, Tignes has a glacier that is accessible to skiers in summer. It's one of the most popular places for summer skiing in France.<\/p>\n\n\n

At an altitude of over 3,000 metres, the Grande Motte glacier has two chairlifts, a ski lift, a cable car and a funicular railway for a total of 20 kilometres of pistes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With access to the snowpark, skiing and glacier walks supervised by mountain guides, there's plenty to do on the Tignes glacier. Plus the chance to bask in the sun on the Panoramic terrace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
